NJSBA Sustainability Consulting Services

NJSBA is committed to helping schools across New Jersey reach their sustainability goals. NJSBA’s sustainability Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will work with your school team to create a customized sustainability plan that is tailored to meet the needs of your district, reduce operational costs, improve the indoor environmental quality of your schools and infuse sustainability throughout curriculum. This customized approach is in alignment with the Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification program, the national Green Ribbon Schools award program, the Eco–Schools initiative, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

Our expert staff members, who have LEED Green Associate accreditation and Education for Sustainability backgrounds, play key roles in numerous large-scale sustainability initiatives including the Sustainable Jersey for Schools program, the New Jersey Sustainable Schools Project, the Green Program of Study, and the Green Ribbon Schools awards recognition program. NJSBA has also won numerous awards, including the 2015 U.S. Green Building Council’s N.J. Chapter Innovative Sustainability Initiative and Education award.

Policy Services for Sustainability

NJSBA’s Policy Services provides telephone and email consultation to all members. Consultation services include investigation and research into board policy inquires, sample policies and regulations collected from New Jersey and other school districts, policy review and feedback and other resources related to policy development.
