School leaders play a crucial role in the implementation of school safety measures. On Friday, June 1, NJSBA will host an informative day of training focused on the security and safety of schools, offering attendees the opportunity to learn about school safety strategies and the resources and services available to help keep schools and students safe.

The conference will take place at The Conference Center at Mercer, at 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor. It will include large-group presentations and small-group breakout sessions covering a wide range of school safety topics including, but not limited to, designing and implementing school security solutions.

The program will also include an interactive networking lunch, offering an opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions on hot topics in school security.

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with continental breakfast and registration starting at 8:30 a.m. The program will offer 4 Board Member Academy credits for school board members, Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) credits for school business administrators, and Certified Educational Facilities Managers (CEFM) credits for facilities managers.

Registration Information Member registration may be completed online, but only by the school business administrator, who must attach a scanned copy of the purchase order with the registration. School board members and other district staff that have previously been reported to NJSBA in the district census form may attend.

Additional district staff members are welcome to register online through Eventbrite using a credit card. (Staff should check with the school business administrator as to local district policy regarding reimbursement.)

Cost The registration fee for members is $99 per person and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and program materials.

Who Should Attend? In addition to school board members, business administrators, and superintendents, all district staff members who play a role in school safety including, but not limited to, teachers, school resource officers, school security guards, facilities managers and parents will take away valuable information on this critical issue.
