On Oct. 6, the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey will hold a statewide initiative to mobilize community leaders, concerned citizens, and the prevention and treatment communities to raise awareness of the potential for dependency on prescribed pain medicine and its link to heroin abuse rates in New Jersey.

Teams of volunteers across the state will visit physician and dental offices, as well as homes in local communities, to distribute this vital information.

The New Jersey Senate unanimously approved legislation designating Oct. 6 in perpetuity as “Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day” in New Jersey.

The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey is seeking volunteers for “Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day.” More information on how to volunteer is available here.
