The Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey, the non-profit arm of the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), announced that it has received a $100,000 contribution from NJM Insurance Company to support the Association’s programs that provide relevant and effective governance training for local school board members.

“New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company has an established record of support for initiatives to improve the quality of life in New Jersey,” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, ELFNJ chief executive officer. “We are proud that the company has identified NJSBA’s professional development programs for local board of education members as an effort deserving of its support.”

He continued, “Research shows that well-trained, effective school boards can have a positive impact on student achievement. That must remain a critical focus for our state.”

NJM is a Founding Educational Supporter of ELFNJ.  Its contribution will fund programming, which is provided to local school boards at no cost, including the New Board Member Orientation, training required under the New Jersey School Ethics Act and the New Jersey School Accountability Act, programming in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education, and training programs delivered at the county and regional levels.
