The New Jersey School Boards Association is now accepting submissions for the 2018 Innovations in Special Education program, which recognizes exemplary programs and services for students with special needs.

The program is part of Special Education Week 2018 in New Jersey, sponsored by the New Jersey School Boards Association and ASAH, an organization serving the private special education community since 1974. If you have a successful, innovative program that has been in place for at least one school year (on or before September 2016), please tell us about it!

Since it began in 2002, the Innovations program has drawn wide interest from the state’s special education community. Last year’s program drew 56 entries from public school districts and private schools for the disabled. Seven entries were honored during a luncheon reception, held in conjunction with Special Education Week.

An article from NJSBA’s magazine,School Leader, about last year’s honored programs can be found on the NJSBA website at staging.njsba.org/innovations-2017.

Click here for an entry form for the 2018 program. Entries must be received in the NJSBA office by 4:30 p.m., March 30, 2018.

Selected programs will be honored at a special event held in conjunction with Special Education Week in New Jersey in May. For further information about Innovations in Special Education, contact Ann Marie Smith of the NJSBA executive office at 609-278-5209 or via email.
