Whether your school district needs to prepare for crisis communication or deal more effectively with the news media on a daily basis, NJSBA’s 2016 School Public Relations Forum, on April 8, will provide valuable training and information.

Designed for school board leaders, the program will focus on interactive media relations training, including the recording and critiquing of mock interviews. Trainers from the New Jersey Department of Health, who specialize in assisting local health officials during crises, will conduct the interactive session, which will be modified to address local school district issues.

A second session, led by the board attorney and superintendent of the Sayreville Public Schools, will address how the district has handled a recent controversy, and will share important lessons.

The program will be held at NJSBA headquarters at 413 W. State St., Trenton from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (registration and continental breakfast at 9 a.m.) The attendance fee for NJSBA members is $75. Board members will receive three Board Member Academy credits for their participation.

Register today! Ask your School Business Administrator to register you online by clicking here. Business Administrators should attach a purchase order to the registration. Attendance is limited.
