Jeanne Thomason Reock, a former member of the South Brunswick Board of Education, and a former assistant director of governmental relations at the New Jersey School Boards Association, died in Princeton Hospital on March 24. The Kendall Park resident was 83.

A native of Bradley Beach, Jeanne graduated from Asbury Park High School and was in the last graduating class of the New Jersey College for Women, before it became Douglass College.

Following college, Jeanne worked in social services for Middlesex General Hospital and for the State Board of Child Welfare, and then raised a family.

As her interest in public education developed, she became a member the South Brunswick Board of Education and served several years as president of the board. This was followed by 17 years as a legislative analyst, and then assistant director of governmental relations for the New Jersey School Boards Association.

Upon retirement from NJSBA, Jeanne undertook a new career in psychological counseling. She helped to organize and for 12 years served as the president of International Association of Rubenfeld Synergists (INARS).

Later, she became secretary of the Institute for International Connections, and helped organize and present conferences in Baku, Azerbaijan and other locations.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Ernest C. Reock, Jr., of Rutgers University, two sons: Michael, of Goose Creek, S.C., and Thomas, of Hamilton Township, a daughter, Kathleen Reock Ketofsky, of Kendall Park, and five grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, Monmouth Junction.
