NJSBA’s 2016 School Public Relations Forum, to be held April 8, will offer interactive media relations training to school officials and board members.

Mock Interview Training Trainers from the New Jersey Department of Health, who specialize in assisting local health officials in communicating with the public during crises, will conduct the session, which will be modified to address local school district issues. Participants will have an opportunity to practice their interviewing skills using videotaped mock interviews.

A second session, led by the board attorney and superintendent of the Sayreville Public Schools, will address how the district has handled a recent controversy, and will share important lessons.

The program will be held at NJSBA headquarters at 413 W. State St., Trenton from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (registration and continental breakfast at 9 a.m.) The attendance fee for NJSBA members is $75. Board members will receive three Board Member Academy credits for their participation.
