On Saturday, May 16, NJSBA held its semi-annual gathering of local school district representatives. The delegates approved a proposal from the NJSBA Board of Directors that the Association amend its bylaws to move the NJSBA officers’ election back to May (from November) and hold the election going forward in odd-numbered years, with the next election of officers taking place in May 2017. The sole resolution proposed at the Delegate Assembly, which sought to allow new board members to be sworn in once the results of the November school board elections have been certified, was defeated.
