The New Jersey School Boards Association focused on recommendations for improving student achievement during a May 30 conference, “Student Achievement through Different Lenses.” The conference, which was attended by about 60 people, took place at Mercer County Community College.

The report includes research and resources on the school board’s role in advancing teaching and learning, the impact of poverty, and the importance of early childhood education and social-emotional learning. Included are 83 recommendations for action.
