As part of its commitment to helping schools across New Jersey reach their goals in sustainability, the New Jersey School Boards Association is offering members and school district personnel an opportunity to attend a one-day Sustainable Practices Working Session.

In the one-day sessions, to take place on Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Jan. 20, participants will review a Sustainability Wellness Check, which will be in alignment with the Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification program. Board members will receive three board member academy credits for participation in this working session.

NJSBA, in cooperation with the N.J. Department of Education (NJDOE) and the N.J. School Building and Grounds Association, is offering six Continuing Education Credits (#CE-00084) toward certification for schools facilities managers attending this program. Attendance can also contribute toward the minimum sustainability training requirements for Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification.

All sessions will take place at the NJSBA headquarters at 413 West State Street, Trenton. The sessions will run from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with registration beginning at 9 a.m. The sessions are free and include a continental breakfast, lunch and program materials. Pre-registration is required and seats are limited.

Districts are encouraged to send their entire green teams. To register for a session, click on the date, either Thursday, December 8, 2016 or Friday, January 20, 2017.

Sustainability Services In addition to the working sessions, NJSBA also offers direct sustainability services, aligned with the Sustainable Jersey for Schools Program, for schools and districts looking for ways to integrate sustainable practice.
