On Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m., NJSBA will present an interactive webinar on ways districts can save money, operate more efficiently and create healthier schools.

Participants will have an opportunity to present questions to a panel of experts and to learn more about ways NJSBA can help districts achieve their goals through sustainability services, the Grants Support program and ACESplus. The webinar is open to members and other district personnel.  Districts are asked to encourage members of their green team to attend this webinar.  The program is free and registration is available online.

On Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m., NJSBA and Carahsoft will present an interactive webinar, as part of the NJSBA TEC partnership, on Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

School districts are looking to cloud-based solutions to improve efficiencies, increase the geographical separation by keeping data protection solutions and failover services in a different region from the primary IT infrastructure, and leverage economies of scale. Most districts have made investments in existing infrastructure and are faced with the decision of how to make the best use of existing investments as well as future expansions. Cloud services offer affordable solutions, and are easy for IT staff to deploy and manage.

During the webinar, attendees will learn how their district can manage complete recovery and failover when their main data center location is compromised by a disaster or any other downtime event. Attendees will also learn how districts can move applications out to the cloud, which systems can stay locally in the district, and which systems can be deployed to the cloud data center. The program is free and registration is available online.
