NJSBA will host its popular “Fundamentals of School Law” program on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the New Jersey School Boards Association headquarters, 413 West State St., Trenton. The program will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with registration and continental breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The session will help participants gain a foundation of critical knowledge on school law from the experienced attorneys at NJSBA. The program provides a basic overview of New Jersey public education law as it relates to board of education operations.

Topics will include:

  • Open Public Meetings and Open Public Records Acts
  • Ethics for Board Members and Other School Officials
  • Labor Relations for Board Attorneys
  • Tenure and Seniority

The member rate for the program is $199 and the non-member rate is $398. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch. This program will carry 5.1 CLE pending credits for New Jersey lawyers and 4 Board Member Academy Credits.

Registration School board member and school administrator registration may be completed online, but only by the school business administrator who must attach a scanned copy of the purchase order with the registration.
