A new 10-episode video series produced by NJSBA, “Ten Things Every School Board Candidate Should Know Before Taking Office,” is complete and now available online. The series contains important information for candidates—and for newly-elected board members, including those beginning the preparation for taking office after school board elections this week.
Topics include criminal history record checks for newly elected board members; the Sunshine Law; the Board Member Code of Ethics; mandated training; and professional development opportunities.
Experts from NJSBA’s Legal and Labor Relations Services Department delve into these and other issues with Ray Pinney, host of NJSBA’s online interview program, “Education Matters.”
