As a continued effort to increase awareness and enhance integrated STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and math) education throughout New Jersey, the New Jersey Technology and Engineering Educators Association (NJTEEA) has announced a partnership with the New Jersey School Boards Association.
As a first collaborative step, the NJTEEA is inviting school board members and other school officials to the NJTEEA 2016 State Conference held on Friday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at William Paterson University.
NJSBA and NJTEEA recognize the importance of networking and sharing best practices with educators from different districts to learn about innovative projects, equipment and curriculum. There is a great deal of conversation around technology, engineering and “makerspace” classrooms, and NJTEEA is offering NJSBA members the chance to meet practitioners and learn alongside those who teach K-12 technology and engineering education. The significantly reduced registration rate offered to NJSBA members is $75, down from the original price of $150.
Attendees will join NJTEEA for a professional development day packed with unique and exceptional presentations about prototyping, integrated STEM and STEAM, “Ed Tech for Tech Ed,” and makerspace design that creates environments for student-centered and hands-on learning. Alongside the professional development offered, NJTEEA will have representatives from the NJSBA, US Army, sponsors, and vendors to answer questions, provide assistance in the design and development of innovative classrooms and to meet professional STEM Educators.
