Nearly 60 NJSBA members and staff met at NJSBA headquarters in Trenton on Saturday, Sept. 9 for the first of two strategic planning forums. The forums are intended to help craft a new strategic plan that will guide the Association through 2020.

The group, which included representatives of NJSBA’s Board of Directors, County Association Leadership and general membership, heard a “State of the Association” presentation by Executive Director Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod and presentations by President Dan Sinclair and others. They then focused on identifying NJSBA’s strengths and the challenges it faces in its core areas of its mission. These areas are student achievement; training and professional development; advocacy; and the Association’s support, direct and consultative services.

The next meeting, on Oct. 6, will serve to identify goals and objectives of the strategic plan.

The new NJSBA Strategic Plan will serve as a blueprint to guide the Association for the next three years, until 2020. A proposed plan will be presented to the Board of Directors at its November meeting.
