On Jan. 6-8, NJSBA held the first of its two annual weekend New Board Member Orientation programs. The program included large group sessions and small-group training led by experienced school board members.Topics spanned school law, ethics, policy, school finance, labor relations, advocacy, the board-superintendent relationship, community relations, and more. The program was free of charge to attendees, and was funded through a grant made to the Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey (ELFNJ) by the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group.
