Nearly 200 newly-elected or appointed school board members attended one of the two New Board Member Weekend Orientation programs held in January and March. The programs, which are funded by the Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey (ELFNJ) are available to board members at no cost to the district. They feature a mix of large and small group sessions on topics including school law, policy, the School Ethics Act, school finance, labor relations, the board-superintendent relationship, improving student achievement, and advocacy.
