Christy Tighe, a member of the Greenwich Township Board of Education in Warren County, was elected Vice President for County Activities of the New Jersey School Boards Association during the organization’s semi-annual Delegate Assembly on May 20.
She will serve a two-year term in the volunteer position.
Tighe has held her current position on the Greenwich Township board since 2012. She previously served on the Greenwich board from 2007 to 2010 and is a former vice president of the Warren County School Boards Association. She has served as an alternate delegate to the NJSBA Board of Directors, and has served on several NJSBA committees.
Tighe earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois. She is the director of college and career readiness at Junior Achievement of New Jersey, a national nonprofit organization that creates business-education partnerships, while providing 21st century learning opportunities to 68,000 New Jersey students annually. She is also a graduate of Lead New Jersey, a leadership training program.
