The New Jersey School Boards Association is hosting Bargaining at the Table on Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Jan. 20, to help districts understand what happens at the bargaining table, what to expect during negotiations, and how they should respond.

Both offerings of the program will take place at NJM Insurance Group, 301 Sullivan Way, West Trenton, and will run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., with registration and continental breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Topics include:

  • The mechanics of bargaining (ground rules, timing, procedures)
  • Analyzing union demands
  • Using comparative data
  • Impasse procedures
  • At-the-table techniques

Registration for Bargaining at the Table may be done online by clicking on the date links above, but only by the school business administrator. Business administrators wishing to register officials from their districts should have a scanned purchase order ready to attach to the registration.

Cost The registration fee for members is $149 and the fee for non-members is $298. The fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch and program materials.
