On July 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) New Jersey Green Schools Committee, in collaboration with the New Jersey School Boards Association, will be offering an educational tour of the Village Elementary School addition project in the West Windsor- Plainsboro Regional School District.

School board members will receive one Academy credit for attending. In addition, architects can earn credits through the American Institute for Architects (AIA) and credential maintenance through Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). Buildings and Grounds Association credits are also currently pending approval.

Village Elementary School, located at 601 New Village Road, West Windsor, is a LEED Silver certified green building. The tour will highlight the LEED features of the building and how the school paved the way to achieve certification. Participants will also learn how to connect the building systems to classroom lessons, policy and board goals. Attendees will also be able to participate in a question-and-answer session with subject matter experts from USGBC NJ, NJSBA and other key stakeholders.
