Teachers in the Linwood district saw a need in the community for kids who don’t like traditional after-school sports activities. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and math) is fun and exciting for many children – as the teachers involved with the Amazinators like to say, the “nerds of the world.”

A summer STEAM camp was started two summers ago at the school. The camp has hands-on, interactive science, technology, engineering, art and math activities, designed to foster creativity and a child’s ability to problem solve. Students program Lego Mindstorm robots to run an obstacle course, engage in amazing science experiments, learn coding, participate in engineering challenges and more. This experiential, inquiry-based STEAM camp is called the Amazinators.
