A recent Appellate Division decision concerning “Rice Notice” procedures is expected to have a significant impact on local boards of education. The ruling, which involves Kean University, will affect local school districts since it pertains to the Open Public Meetings Act.

Will this ruling expand the circumstances under which employees must receive a Rice Notice? What can boards do to comply with the law?  What is the impact of the ruling on board minutes, if any?  The changes will discussed this Friday, April 21, on School Law Today, the New Jersey School Boards Association podcast on education law.

Please join NJSBA host Ray Pinney as he discusses the ruling with Stephen R. Fogarty, a partner with the law firm of Fogarty & Hara. School Law Today is like a radio program, but online.
