To help the state’s public schools access non-tax funding, the New Jersey School Boards Association offers a Grant Support Services Program through the Grants Office LLC. New Jersey districts are encouraged to apply for the following new grant.

Teacher Training Grant The “Building Teacher Leadership Capacity to Support Teachers” grant will fund partnerships between high-needs local school districts and institutions of higher education.

This program seeks to leverage these partnerships in order to develop and implement innovative training plans for current teacher leaders to serve as mentors to novice teachers within their respective districts.

Approximately six awards will be granted for projects lasting up to three years. The first year of project funding is expected to be $200,000; successful applicants will be able to reapply for continuation funding for years two and three.

Grant applications are due June 4. Please note, however, if the institute of higher education  intends to serve as lead in the partnership, it must submit a notice of intent to fill this role no later than May 1.
