On Thursday, Sept. 13, the New Jersey School Boards Association will host “School Law Essentials” at Association headquarters, located at 413 West State St., Trenton. The program will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with registration and continental breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m.
This training provides important legal information for school board members, school attorneys, and other school leaders on a variety of topics including:
- Open Public Meetings and Open Public Records Acts
- Ethics for Board Members and Other School Officials
- Labor Relations for Board Attorneys
- Tenure and Seniority
Administrators and school board members are encouraged to attend to gain a foundation of critical knowledge in the above school law issues. Newly hired associates and experienced attorneys needing a “refresher” course are also encouraged to attend. The program provides a basic overview of New Jersey public education law as it relates to board of education operations.
Program Rates/Professional Development Credits The member rate for the program is $199 and the non-member rate is $398. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch. This program will carry 5.1 CLE pending credits for New Jersey lawyers and 4 Board Member Academy Credits.
Registration School board member and school administrator registration may be handled online by the school business administrator. A purchase order must be attached to the registration.
AMPSA Members AMPSA members may register online on the NJSBA website by logging into their account and paying by credit card.
