The New Jersey School Boards Association, in partnership with the Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey (ELFNJ), is offering two opportunities for new school board members to attend the New Board Member Orientation Weekend Conference for 2018.

Pursuant to the School Ethics Act, every newly-elected school board member is required to participate in the orientation course within their first year of service. New board members may fulfill their training requirements through the weekend orientation program, in-person one-day programs, and online.

The weekend program gives participants a unique opportunity to work in small-group settings with veteran board members. In addition, the weekend program includes more informational sessions than the other formats. The NJSBA New Board Member Weekend Orientation program is the most comprehensive professional development program for New Jersey’s newly-elected school board members.

All costs, including all meals, materials and hotel stay, are underwritten by a grant from the Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey (ELFNJ). The January program is sponsored by the New Jersey Schools Insurance Group and the February program is sponsored by ETS.
