At the invitation of Mark Biedron, N.J. State Board of Education president, NJSBA Executive Director Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod recently addressed a group that included State Board of Education members and New Jersey Department of Education staff. Feinsod provided an overview of NJSBA’s thoughts and ideas regarding what constitutes a quality education. The group is working on a five-year strategic plan for the State Board, and heard Feinsod speak about school climate, standards, character education, sustainability, early childhood education, STEAM education, and digital learning. Feinsod also spoke about NJSBA’s concerns in the areas of special education costs, standards for personnel seniority, and local school board flexibility.
