Effective school board leadership is often the key factor in a board of education’s success.  In order to help improve the success of local boards, NJSBA is excited to offer the Board Presidents and Vice Presidents Regional Training Conferences, coming up on Feb. 4.

These conferences, held simultaneously in the north, central and southern regions of the state, will focus on the following issues: running an effective meeting, working with different personalities, dealing with challenging community members and board members, and leading the way in student achievement.

This program will include a networking portion, providing an opportunity for attendees to learn from each other’s experiences. In addition to the topics noted above, NJSBA would like to address the leadership topics that board leaders want to discuss.  If you have a specific issue that you would like to address at this program, please email Jennifer Siehl with the topic and the region where you plan on attending.

The program will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. (registration and breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m.) at three different locations.  In the northern region, the program will be held at Montville High School; in the central region at Jackson Liberty High School; and in the southern region at Eileen Abbot Central Administration Building in Washington Township (Gloucester County).  The fee for this program is $50.
