In his annual “State of the State” address to the Legislature, Gov. Chris Christie said he will pursue regulatory changes to promote the growth of charter schools and made it clear that he opposes a constitutional amendment to guarantee state funding of the public employee pension systems.
Governors traditionally use the address to highlight accomplishments and growth, and Tuesday’s address was no exception. Christie cited improvement in the state’s economy and initiatives in several areas, including education during his term.
