NJSBA has updated policy formerly titled 6171.3 At-Risk, Title I. This policy was renamed 6171.3 Title I, Improving Academic Achievement and Parent and Family Engagement.

The policy was overhauled to reflect the changes that resulted from the reauthorization of the federal ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) by ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) in 2015. New sections were added including Definitions; District Educational Plan; Parent and Family Engagement; School Level Parent and Family Engagement; Building Capacity for Parent and Family Engagement; School-Parent Compact; Annual Evaluation; and Comparability of Services (this section shall not apply to a district that has only one building for each grade span).

The policy updates may be directly downloaded from the Critical Policy Reference Manual (CPRM) district or charter versions or the Policy Update List on your password protected Policy Resources webpage at staging.njsba.org.
