Social media can engage the community and help advance public education, but it is not without challenges.

NJSBA’s 2018 School Public Relations Forum, to be held Friday March 2, will focus on the advantages and drawbacks of social media.

“Social Media: Too Much—or Not Enough—of a Good Thing?” will feature sessions on engaging the community through the effective use of social media; the legal and ethical considerations for individual board members; and policies and best practices to guide entry into the world of social media.

The program, which is appropriate for school board members, district administrators and school public relations professionals, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NJM Insurance, 301 Sullivan Way, West Trenton, and seating is limited to 40 participants. Please ask your school business administrator to register you as soon as possible.
