census-artIt is easier than ever for school districts to update their board member census, with a newonline portal that NJSBA recently debuted.

NJSBA relies on the local school districts to complete an updated school board member census to provide the Association with the names of current board members and contact information for those members, including a preferred email address.

The Association urges any district that has not updated its census since board reorganization to do so. Districts should continue to update the census report throughout the year if there are changes in board membership.

The census allows NJSBA to properly identify those board members who need to take mandated training, and permits local board members to be properly registered for NJSBA programs and services.

Online Updating To update the census online, business administrators can log in to the NJSBA website here. Once they are logged in, BAs should select “Census Report,” and proceed as directed.

Business administrators can still use the paper method to update the board census, as well. To do so, log in here and select the “Census Report (PDF Format)” option. After retrieving the PDF version of the district census, printing it, and updating it, BAs can fax it to NJSBA at (609) 278-5280.
