More than 50 national education groups, including the National School Boards Association, have joined together to celebrate the achievements of public education during “Public Schools Week,” March 12-16. The effort is being led by the American Association of School Administrators, the national superintendents association.

The education groups have issued a joint statement in support of public education, “in an effort to highlight the broad, diverse support that exists for our nation’s public schools as we continue to advocate for federal policy and supports that strengthen our schools and the 50 million students they educate.”

AASA has posted an “I Love Public Schools,” website for the campaign, which has a toolkit that includes suggested social media posts and press releases, images, and information about congressional supporters of Public Schools Week.

There is a schedule of events for the week, which includes speeches from members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives sharing stories about public education success stories in their districts, a panel discussion, and more.

The group urges supporters to include the hashtag #PublicSchoolsWeek, in any social media postings.
