NJSBA’s legal staff has issued a guidance document, “The 180-Day Requirement: Guidance on Rescheduling School,” which addresses relevant state law, regulation and Department of Education directives. The document comes in response to concerns among school districts that have had a large number of closings this year due to inclement weather.
The document, first issued after Hurricane Sandy in 2012, has been updated to include the most recent information available.
