The New Jersey School Boards Association and the New Jersey PTA will host the annual Legislative Day on Thursday, May 25 at the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton.

A panel discussion on school funding; information on the latest initiatives of the N.J. State Board of Education; and participation by state legislators; are among highlights planned.

Attendees will be able to park at no charge at the garage located at 1 Lafayette Boulevard in Trenton. Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 8:15 am.

State legislators will participate in a panel discussion pertaining to public education at the event from 9 – 10 a.m.; legislators may also stop by before noon to address the assembled school board members and parents.

Scheduled events include a school funding panel discussion in the morning, which will feature Dr. G. Kennedy Greene, superintendent of Newton School District; Dr. Jorden Schiff, superintendent of Hillsborough School District; and Mike Vrancik, NJSBA director of governmental relations. They will discuss the current school funding climate and Q&A will follow.

Mark Biedron, president of the N.J. State Board of Education will discuss the current board initiatives.

Lunch will be served.
