The annual Workshop training conference will take place from Monday, Oct. 23 to Thursday, Oct. 26 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

From now through June 30, 2017, NJSBA is offering a special “early bird” group registration rate of $1,400 for up to 18 team members. The regular group registration rate of $1,500 will go into effect on July 1. The individual member rate is $300 per person.

Expanded Group Registration The Workshop group registration now covers 18 team members (up from 14 team members) and may include the following: school board members, business administrator, superintendent, facilities managers, curriculum professionals, IT staff, and other district professionals.

Four Days of Training/Travel Waiver The New Jersey Department of Education has expanded the waiver for Workshop 2017. Workshop will now provide an additional day of training, including New Board Member Orientation, on Monday, Oct. 23. The adjusted waiver will also allow school districts to reimburse eligible board members and staff for overnight accommodations for a maximum of three, rather than two, nights. Individuals whose one-way commute to the Atlantic City Convention Center exceeds 50 miles may obtain reimbursement from their school district, charter school, or renaissance school project for overnight lodging for Oct. 23, 24, and 25.

Housing Information Harrah’s is the headquarters hotel. A block of rooms has been secured at a number of hotels in Atlantic City for Workshop 2017 attendees. Housing information is listed on the Workshop website.

About Workshop 2017 The largest professional development event for school leaders in New Jersey, Workshop 2017 will offer more than 250 training sessions. In addition to opportunities for board members to earn NJSBA Board Member Academy credits, NJSBA has been authorized to issue Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) credits for School Business Administrators; professional development credits for Certified Educational Facilities Managers (CEFM); and sustainability credits toward Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification. Workshop 2017 will also offer expanded training for school technology professionals, as part of NJSBA’s commitment to helping schools reach their technology goals.
