The New Jersey Department of Education in September issued a bulletin providing clarification to school districts about private school placements for special education students. The notice, which went to chief school administrators and charter school lead persons, outlined details about Individualized Education Program (IEP) decision-making, and district responsibilities for students who are placed in separate settings.

The information was provided pursuant to recommendations issued by the New Jersey Task Force on Improving Special Education for Public School Students.

The bulletin is available on the NJDOE website.
