In accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, notice is hereby provided of a meeting of the New Jersey School Boards Association Resolutions Subcommittee. The meeting will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at New Jersey School Boards Association headquarters, 413 West State Street, Trenton. The meeting is open to the public.

The agenda, to the extent known at this time, will include review and action on three resolutions which will come before the Semiannual Delegate Assembly on Nov. 18, 2017. The resolutions that will be considered by the subcommittee are listed below, including the sponsor and the topic.

Notice is also provided that the Emergency Resolutions Subcommittee may be required to meet on Nov. 13 if any resolutions are received by the Association to be considered as emergency resolutions, prior to the cutoff date of Nov. 8, for the Delegate Assembly agenda.

Middletown Township (Monmouth) The resolution proposes additional language in NJSBA Manual of and Policies on Education which states that NJSBA believes it is detrimental to students, school programs, and local taxpayers to have the state reduce projected aid to school districts after school budgets have been adopted.

Bloomfield (Essex) The resolution requests that the NJ State Legislature enact legislation that would force the state to fully-fund special education costs, including Extraordinary Aid Costs and transportation costs, and limit the increases that providers can charge to the same 2 percent cap imposed on school districts, and that special services funding supplied by the state follows the child.

Freehold Borough (Monmouth) The resolution proposes additional language in NJSBA Manual  of Positions and Policies on Education that NJSBA believes in the fair and equitable distribution of state school aid to member districts and providing all students in New Jersey with a thorough and efficient education.
