John Bulina serves as Immediate Past President of the New Jersey School Boards Association.  He was elected to a two-year term as President of the New Jersey School Boards Association in May 2012 and served until Nov. 15, 2014. Previously, he served for one term as Vice President for Legislation/Resolutions (2010 through 2012). Prior to 2010, he served for two consecutive terms as Vice President for Finance (2006 through 2010).

On the local level, Bulina has been a member of the Tabernacle Board of Education for 23 years, serving four years as president and five years as vice president. He served as a member of Tabernacle’s Personnel, Finance, Budget, Strategic Planning, Negotiations, Education, and Building and Grounds Committees. Bulina served as vice president for legislation of the Burlington County School Boards Association for one year and executive vice president for four years. He has served as a commissioner of the Burlington County Educational Media Technology Center for 11 years. He also serves as delegate to the NJSBA Delegate Assembly. Bulina is Burlington County’s 2006-2007 Board Member of the Year.

Bulina served as chair of the New Jersey School Boards Association’s Standards and Assessment Committee, and an NJSBA at-large representative on New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s (NJSIAA’s) Executive Committee. He also served on the Long Range Plan Committee, Executive Director Search Committee, Construction Review Task Force, and as a group leader for new board member orientations, Leadership Conferences and Parliamentary Procedures programs.

Bulina has earned Master Board Member certification, which recognizes successful completion of training in school board leadership, through the NJSBA Board Member Academy.

Nationally, Bulina served on the Federal Relations Network (FRN), a nationwide organization of local school board members which advocates the interests of public education before Congress and federal agencies. He has also served on the National School Boards Association’s 2010 Nominating Committee, 2012 Credentials Committee and an alternate delegate representing New Jersey.

Bulina received his B.S. in Education from State University of New York, Oswego. He also received his Masters of Arts, Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University.

Bulina is a senior adjunct professor at Burlington County College. He was a soccer coach for 34 years with Tabernacle’s AA, South Jersey Girls Select, New Jersey Olympic Development Program, and Burlington County College. He currently remains active as a Professional Ski Instructor of America (PSIA), and is a member of the St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Roebling, NJ, and Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Philadelphia, PA.
