NJSBA and the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials have developed a sample resolution that school boards may use if they wish to urge the state Department of Agriculture to allow continuation of the current “cost reimbursement” method for securing food service management.

The agriculture department has notified school districts that the cost reimbursement method will be replaced with a “fixed price” method that will limit a district’s flexibility and may impact its participation in the National School Lunch Program.

School boards that wish to take action are asked to send NJSBA a copy of the resolution by November 1.
